Alexis Bowman

Senior Graphic Designer

In 2009 Alexis joined the Technocrat team, bringing a wealth of experience and a flexible but defined approach through her exposure to both, print and web advertising early in her career. These primary design skills partnered with exposure to mature clients (NRMA, AAMI, Qantas, RACV, The Powerhouse Museum, Treasury Wine Estate, Weight Watchers, Western Sydney Parklands Trust) and an abundance of medium and smaller businesses (pubs, hotels, childcare centres, tradesmen, fashion designers and stylists) have accelerated her ability to understand brand recognition and reflect these core values through the work she produces.

Alexis can work from an idea or implement from a prescribed brief. Her ability to adapt to any situation but assert her creative streak is one of the reasons why she works so well with clients. When she's not pixel pushing Alexis loves to travel, go to the beach, enjoy great food and wine, and hang out with her enormous family.

Aylie McDowall
BLOG

Aylie McDowall

Senior Graphic Designer

A true creative spirit Aylie is inspired by anything visual. She began her career as a fashion designer after studying at the Hong Kong Polytechic, RMIT and the Royal College of Art, London. What she really wanted to do was make her illustrations come to life so she went back to college to study a certificate of Multi Media at the Sound and Engineering College, Sydney. Didn’t quite learn how to make her illustrations come to life but she did learn how to use the Adobe Suite.
That was back in 1997 when the web was really taking off, and she could see the creative potential and just had to be a part of it. 15 years later....how time flies.....she has loved being a part of its’ growth and how it has influenced and changed our lives.
She is now living the dream, working remotely in Far North Queensland, a few minutes walk from a beautiful golden beach lined with coconut palms while servicing clients through out Australia. She is inspired and in awe of her surroundings everyday. Dreams do come true!
Through the years she has designed the online and mobile space for many high profile companies and brands such as Elle Magazine, Australian Fashion Week, Issey Miyake Archive, I&S BBDO (Japan), Canon, Toyota, Truelocal, News.com.au, Carsguide, NRMA, RACV, Urban Walkabout, Tourism Queensland, Coca Cola, Mitre 10, Elastoplast Sport, Leuko, the list goes on...
She is artistic, ambitious, and is never without an inspired vision.

Bruce Hodges
BLOG

Bruce Hodges

Requirements Engineer

Bruce was a geek at school. Once out of school, he attempted to mitigate this by joining a rock band and spending the next ten years or so playing all around the country. Due to both his role in the band as the keyboard player, and also the typical repertoire of 70s / 80s pop and disc that he found himself performing, it's debatable whether this really had much effect on his geek status.
Before the turn of the century, Bruce had realised the need for a "real" job, and dived head-first into IT, teaching himself first HTML, then client-side technologies such as JavaScript, CSS and DTHML, before moving onto SQL, ASP, and later ASP.Net.
Since joining Technocrat - and taking crash courses in open source technologies such as PHP and Java - Bruce has gradually transitioned away from writing code and into the realms of technical architecture, solution design and requirements management.
