Flight Centre is the largest travel retailer in the country. Technocrat was called on site at the early Drupal 7 adoption stage to provide the internal team with co-development, knowledge transfer, and advanced architectural consulting for complex and high traffic sites.
Challenge
The client identified they needed an understanding of the complex technical landscape and to integrate a database of over 250,000 products. Drupal development and content editing direction including migration of the existing big data from legacy systems and integration with various client services.
The local development environment needed to be tightly integrated with Acquia Managed Cloud hosting solution and Drupal training needed to be provided. Technocrat provided the infrastructure set-up of a local development environment tightly integrated with Acquia Managed Cloud hosting solution. Secondly, they provided Drupal development and content editing direction.
Solution
Technocrat had a senior consultant on site to liaise with stakeholders to understand the clients culture, constraints and technology and work to form a technical solution architecture that fit within all requirements. During the period of 12 months on-site, Technocrat led the team to set-up the initial infrastructure for six websites.
Results
Technocrat’s services were primarily Drupal development, and platform-orientated, architecture consulting. We also teamed up with their internal team to co-develop their mobile website. Technocrat also conducted research and helped to develop the initial stage of single source of truth platform to consolidate various international websites (New Zealand, South Africa, US)
